Our Mission StatementThe Association of School Business Officials of New York promotes and encourages collaboration and professional development, maintains the highest ethical standards, advocates on behalf of public education, and provides leadership in the management of resources to ensure quality education for all students. HistoryASBO New York was established in 1948 and is a 501-c-3 charitable non-profit membership organization affiliated with the Association of School Business Officials International and chartered by the New York State Board of Regents. Its membership includes school business officials and staff from school districts and BOCES around the state including students in School District Business Leader graduate programs and companies doing business with schools. ResourcesSchool finance can be a confusing and complicated topic. That's why the school finance experts at ASBO New York created the School Finance Matters video series. Each three-minute video takes on an aspect of school finance, helping you become informed on the issues.
School Business Officials are an integral part of the strategic leadership of a school district or BOCES. Similar to the chief financial officer of a company, the Education CFO is actively involved in collaborations to use resources- people, time, and money- strategically to improve learning.
